(Zhongze) Mark Wei is from Nanjing, China and his preferred pronouns are he, him, his. He enjoys sleeping, video games, and traveling. One of his grad school goals is to broaden his understanding of sociological theories, hone his empirical skills, and become prepared for the research he wants to pursue. After graduate school, he aspired to become a teacher-scholar-- teaching in a university while conducting research in the area of race, immigration, globalization, and politics.

Mark is broadly interested in the ways in which processes of immigration globalization affect racial identities and hierarchies. He is particularly interested in the socialization of Chinese immigrants and how they come to internalize or challenge existing racial structures in the US.
