Anne Brown enjoys reading, playing arcades and video games, participating in outdoor activities, photography, movies, and finding good food to eat.
While in graduate school, she wishes to examine physical and organizational structures that inhibit or promote the well-being of neighborhoods. She is specifically interested in supporting her home and favorite city, St. Louis. However, she wishes to generalize her research to support similar cities such as Memphis and Detroit.
She also wishes to expand my quantitative skills in graduate school, specifically inferential statistics and GIS.
In the future, Anne plans to use the skills she learned in graduate school to facilitate crucial information for young scholars and the larger public. She aims to promote an environment that can overcome biases and support neighborhood well-being for those most at risk. While her goal is to engage the scientific process and progress knowledge, she also always considers the individual(s) who work in the community who may be able to benefit from the research she produces.
