Multiple WashU Faculty Recognized by American Sociological Association

WashU Sociology faculty were recognized as winners of section-level awards at the American Sociological Association's annual meetings.


During August's American Sociological Association's annual meetings, multiple WashU faculty - both new and established - were recognized for their contributions to their respective areas of scholarship.

Chaeyoon Lim, incoming Professor of Sociology, received the Outstanding Published Article Award from the ASA Section on Altruism, Morality, and Social Solidarity for his co-authored article, “Civic Lessons That Last? Religiosity and Volunteering on the Way to Adulthood.”

Liz Chiarello, incoming Associate Professor of Sociology, received three awards: 

Margot Moinester, Assistant Professor of Sociology, received two awards for her article, “The Control Boom: US Interior Immigration Enforcement, 1971 – 2010.":
