Han Koehle (any pronouns) is a transdisciplinary medical sociologist focusing on how injustice is built into health systems and what we can do about it. It has published and presented in sociology, medical informatics, ethics, and fat studies. Its MA thesis addressed race discourse in the Journal of the American Medical Association from 1883 to 1982. Han is engaged in activism and public scholarship addressing genocide prevention, antiracism, trans rights, and health justice.
Their research interests emphasize relationships between marginalization, institutional power, and social movements, especially with regard to health and the body.
